International students arrival guide
You are about to join a community of international students from over 140 countries. Find out the essential information you need to know for when you leave home, arrive on campus, and settle into university life.
Plan your arrival
View our semester and vacation dates.
Please check your CAS carefully and ensure that you make an application for your Tier 4 visa in good time. If for any reason, you are unable to submit a visa application in time to begin your studies in person for the date you choose during online pre-registration, please update your online registration and contact email@example.com.
You will be able to continue your studies via online learning while you wait to travel to the UK. Find more information about Late Arrival Points and the measures you need to take if you are unable to begin your studies in person by 28 September on our prospective students page.
Please note that if you have been issued a 30-day entry clearance vignette as part of your Tier 4 visa application you must arrive within the dates shown on that document. If your travel is delayed and you are unable to arrive within those dates please contact email firstname.lastname@example.org as soon as possible.
Self-isolation upon arrival
You will need to self-isolate upon arrival in the UK if you’re coming from a country not currently on the travel corridor list.
You can find out more information about what you need to do and the support available to you on MySurrey.
Medical information for students from the European Economic Area
If you are a visitor/student from the European Economic Area (EEA) and require medical treatment, you need to provide a non-UK valid European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) to ensure you are not charged for your healthcare. Your EHIC will cover you for all medically necessary treatment during your stay.
