University Court
University Court can be found on the east side of campus and is right next to Yorkies Bridge which offers a quick route into Guildford town centre.
What to expect
You will be sharing with between three and 15 other students in one flat. University Court is made up of 17 different houses, with a mix of shared bathrooms and en-suite rooms.

Location and transport
You can walk to Tesco in 20 minutes via a shared pedestrian and cycle pathway. Surrey Sports Park is located on our Manor Park campus, which is about a 25-minute walk from the Stag Hill campus.
You can also ride the designated University bus routes (1 and 2) from Stag Hill to both Tesco and Manor Park.
The journey takes about seven minutes and buses run up to every 10 minutes through the University campuses on weekdays and every 15–20 minutes on Saturdays and Sundays. The night bus operates six nights per week, Monday to Saturday.
You can either take the short 10-minute walk or take any of the University bus routes which stop at the Friary Bus Station in town.
University Court is on the eastern edge of the Stag Hill campus, so you are very close to town and the train station.
You will be living directly next to the GP surgery and Centre for Wellbeing, as well as being just a couple of minutes from our beautiful lake and the Students’ Union.

Post and addresses
Reading your room number could be confusing when you first see it, but you will quickly learn what each of the letter and numbers mean.
University Court (UC)

All mail should have your full name, room and flat number, house name, court name and postcode, which is GU2 7JN.
Students living in University Court can collect all parcels and letters from Central Distribution.
The opening hours for students to collect post and parcels from Central Distribution are:
- Monday to Thursday 8am to 5pm
- Friday 8am to 6pm.

Bedroom and bathroom
All rooms have either carpet or vinyl flooring with a bed, desk, chair, shelves, wardrobe, a mirror and curtains.
All rooms benefit from our free Residents Network (ResNet) service which provides fast and efficient broadband internet access.
Standard en-suite rooms at University Court have their own private bathroom in the room with its own shower, basin, mirror and toilet.
Budget rooms have shared bathroom facilities, where you will be sharing one shower and two toilets for every four rooms. Rooms do not have their own basin.
Kitchen
A fridge, freezer (or fridge-freezer combined), electric kettle, cooker, microwave, toaster, iron and ironing board are provided in each communal kitchen, but you must provide your own cooking utensils, crockery and cutlery.
You will also find a sink, storage space, table and chairs in your kitchen.

There is no reserved space, but there are two cupboards per person in the kitchen.
This is usually more than enough for most students, but if you need more space, you can talk to flatmates about sharing a shelf if needed.

All halls at Surrey are self-catered, but there are number of places around our campuses to get food and drink, and Guildford has an excellent range of bars, restaurants and cafes.
